THE STOLEN CHILD: ANIMATING POETRY
OVERVIEW
This 2D limited animation short is based heavily on common motifs, themes, and aesthetics present in Irish and English folklore from the nineteenth century, particularly in relation to Irish poetry in the late 1800s. It constructs a visual narrative for what has become one of W. B. Yeats's most well-known works, "The Stolen Child," which draws heavily on centuries-old Irish faery folklore as an allusion for the loss of innocence and the passage of time.
